**GitHub Copilot Joins Vercel AI SDK Harness for Swappable Coding Agents**

Vercel announced that the AI SDK harness layer now supports GitHub Copilot via the official @ai-sdk/harness-github-copilot adapter. The harness layer lets applications run different coding agents through the same HarnessAgent interface, so developers can switch agents without changing their application code. Setup simply requires passing GitHub Copilot parameters in the configuration. The move lets Vercel-based apps call Copilot alongside other coding agents and swap them per task, reducing lock-in to a single vendor.
