**Google DeepMind Introduces SynthID Bio for Watermarking AI-Generated Proteins**

Google DeepMind has introduced SynthID Bio, a proof of concept for watermarking AI-generated proteins while preserving their biological function. The key feature is that it embeds a watermark without disrupting how the protein works. This extends the SynthID line of AI content provenance tools, previously applied to images, audio, and text. For the biotech-AI intersection, this means AI-designed proteins could become traceable in the future, helping distinguish synthetic designs from naturally occurring proteins.
